PI简介：

孙颖博士，美国匹兹堡大学医学院结构生物系助理教授。2008年获得武汉大学生命科学学院学士学位，2014年获得新加坡国立大学生物学系博士学位。博士期间师从于新加坡国立大学生物学系Cynthia Y. He教授，后曾先后就职于新加坡Mechanobiology Institute、美国贝勒医学院及斯坦福大学医学院美国科学院院士Wah Chiu教授实验室。主要从事传染病病原的微生物与宿主细胞相互作用引发的寄生及传播机制的研究，并为传染病的阻断提供理论依据。目前已在 PNAS, Nature Methods, Cell Host & Microbe等期刊上发表研究论文多篇。博士后期间通过电子低温断层扫描(Cryo-ET)和人工智能 (Artificial Intelligence, e.g., Neural Network) 研究人类病原微生物布氏锥虫、弓形虫、疟原虫的亚细胞三维结构，应用子断层平均法 (Subtomogram Averaging)获得细胞大分子的高分辨率三维重建。研发应用一体化光电关联技术，定位和可视化神经细胞的病毒感染。

实验室研究方向：

孙颖实验室将结合细胞和分子生物学、结构生物学、生物化学等手段，研究重大感染疾病相关的亚细胞结构及其分子功能机理。例如使用1）Cryo-ET技术来可视化疟原虫的红细胞细胞感染，重建感染不同阶段的分子侵染机制；2）研究布氏锥虫鞭毛或细胞核膜蛋白的结构和功能， 3）并通过进一步研发和应用超低温冷冻光电关联显微成像 (Cryo-CLEM) 和冷冻离子束扫描电子显微镜 (Cryo-FIB-SEM) 直接从细胞原位探究生理和病理中的生物大分子状态。

实验室现拟招聘博士后，诚邀优秀青年学者加盟。

岗位要求

1. 在国内外已获得或即将获得细胞生物、生物物理、生物工程或基础医学相关专业的博士学位。

Postdoctoral positions are available in Dr. Stella Y. Sun's lab in the Department of Structural Biology, University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, PA (https://sunlab.structbio.pitt.edu/).

We are seeking an enthusiastic postdoctoral fellow to study the cytoskeleton-driven cell motility process, nucleus complex biogenesis in human parasites that lead to infectious diseases (including but not limited to malaria parasites and Trypanosoma brucei) by using molecular and cell biology and the cutting-edge cryo-electron tomography (cryo-ET) with allied techniques such as cryo-FIB-SEM. Our laboratory is fully equipped for all aspects of molecular and cellular biology and has direct access to Titan Krios 3Gi, focused ion beam/scanning electron microscopy (cryo-FIB-SEM) Aquilos2 (https://www.structbio.pitt.edu/index.php/facilities/cryoem), and other instrumentation in core facilities (http://www.researchimaging.pitt.edu/content/center-biologic-imaging).

The position will involve 1) important biological processes including but not limited to organelle biogenesis through cryo-ET 2) imaging method development of cryo-ET, cryo-FIB-SEM for their applications. We are also interested in cell biologist who are looking to develop expertise in cryo-ET, or structural biologists who are looking to develop expertise in cryo-ET, cryo-FIB-SEM or cell biology.
