导师简介:

赵教授毕业于香港大学，食品营养学专业，赴美博后深造期间参与多个美国国家科学院 (NIH) 重大课题，回港后继续从事活性植物化学物质/药草与肠道菌群之间的相互作用及其健康效应方面的研究，组织特异性暴露生物标志物的鉴定，以及开发可提高活性天然产物生物利用度的新方法（包括药物递送系统研究）。现为美国营养学会Early Career Professional成员和北美质谱协会会员，担任Frontiers in Nutrition期刊编委、10多个SCI杂志审稿人及国家自然科学基金评审。目前主持多项国家自然科学基金(NFSC)、香港大学教育资助委员会 (RGC) 及香港科技创新署科创基金 (ITF)。以第一作者或通讯作者在 Food Chemistry、Molecular Nutrition & Food Research、The Journal of Nutritional Biochemistry、Food & Function、Talanta 和 Critical Reviews in Food Science and Nutrition等杂志发表SCI论文近30篇。香港理工大学2023年QS世界大学全球排名65，拥有最先进的分析化学、药学和多组学研究平台。近几年，理大还成立了专为高水平交叉学科研究创立的高等研究院 (PAIR)，并且全力支持产学研结合。

Dr. Daisy Zhao from the Department of Applied Biology and Chemical Technology/Department of Food Science and Nutrition at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) is now inviting outstanding applicants to apply for Postdoctoral Fellow. The candidate should graduate from a top 150 research institute or top 100 for specific subjects in any of the latest world university ranking tables (QS World University Rankings, Academic Ranking of World Universities, or Times Higher Education World University Rankings).

Applicants should have a doctoral degree in microbiology, pharmaceutical science, biomedical science, food and nutritional science, or related disciplines or related disciplines with no more than three years of post-PhD experience at the time of application. Preference will be given to those with hands-on experience in performing omics analysis (metagenomics/metabolomics), or experience in cell tissue/anaerobic bacterial culture.

Dr. Zhao's group mainly studies the interactions between bioactive phytochemicals/herbal preparations and the gut microbiota, and the associated impact on human health, with the application of multi-omics techniques for mechanistic investigations. The group also works on novel approaches for enhancing the bioavailability of phytochemicals for metabolic disease prevention and treatment. PolyU ranks 65th in the 2023 QS World University Rankings and leads world-level research. PolyU has state-of-the-art analytical instruments and multi-omics research platforms. In recent years, PolyU has established multiple institutes for Academy for Interdisciplinary Research (PAIR) and fully supports industry-university-R&D cooperation.
