【摘要】：We point identify and estimate linear social network models without observing any network links. The required data consist of many small networks of individuals, such as classrooms or villages, with individuals that are each only observed once. We apply our estimator to data from Tennessee's Student/Teacher Achievement Ratio (STAR) Project. Without observing the latent network in each classroom, we identify and estimate peer and contextual e§ects on studentsí performance in mathematics. We find that peer efects tend to be larger in bigger classes, and that increasing peer e§ects would signifcantly improve students' average test scores in some classes.

研究探索了在网络连接难以观测的情况下，如何识别和估计线性社交网络模型的问题。所需的数据由某一时期的许多小型网络组成，例如教室或村庄，不需要面板数据或者多期的横截面数据。

研究中使用了田纳西州学生/教师成就比率（STAR）项目的数据进行实证分析，在观察不到每个教室潜在网络的情况下，识别和估计同群效应与情境效应对学生数学成绩的影响。

研究发现，规模在22人左右的班级比15人左右的班级同群效应更大，且同群效应确实会影响学生的数学成绩。文章提出的社交网络模型可以运用于分析经济个体间的空间联系，对研究同群效应、个体行为等有重要意义。

Arthur Lewbel:波士顿大学首任Patrick Roche经济学教授，在应用微观经济学和计量经济学领域享有盛名。现任《Econometric Theory》的主编。Lewbel曾任Journal of Business and Economic Statistics主编及Econometric Theory, Journal of Applied Econometrics, Journal of Econometrics副主编。

研究领域包括非参数模型的理论识别和实证估计，其研究广泛应用于产业组织及劳动经济学实证估计。文章多次发表于Econometrica，American Economic Review, Journal of Political Economy,Journal of Economics等国际顶级经济学期刊

瞿茜:上海交通大学安泰经济与管理学院经济系长聘副教授。2006年获得北京大学经济学院学士学位，2008年获得北京大学光华管理学院硕士学位，2013年获得美国俄亥俄州立大学经济系博士学位。

瞿茜副教授的研究领域是计量经济理论和区域经济，尤其侧重于空间计量模型以及其在空间溢出和同群效应中的应用，她已在Journal of Econometrics, Quantitative Economics, Econometric Theory, Journal of Business & Economic Statistics, Regional Science and Urban Economics, Labour Economics等杂志发表多篇论文，受到包括经典工具书Handbook of Econometrics等在内的广泛引用

Xun Tang:2014年入职莱斯大学经济系，研究计量经济学、产业组织
