For papers for which the authors do not purchase open access, charges of $75.00 (US$) per typeset PDF page are assessed. This is about ¼ of the actual processing costs. All papers (including Comments, Special Features, Forums, and invited papers) are subject to page charges unless the author is otherwise informed by ESA.
2、Article Publication Charges (APCs)
Ecological Monographs offers authors the option to publish their articles Open Access: immediately free to read, download, and share.
If the Open Access option is selected, submissions will be subject to an APC if accepted and published in the journal: $3,970 USD / £2,650 GBP / €3,310 EUR
ESA Society Members: 26% off full APC.
3、Ecological Monographs Data Charge
Every paper accepted for publication in Ecological Monographs will incur a $50 data subsidy fee. This charge is in addition to the Open Access or Page Charge fee paid for the paper’s publication.

Papers published in Ecological Monographs provide integrative and complete documentation of major empirical and theoretical advances in the field and establish benchmarks from which future research will build. Justification for their length must be based on characteristics of the research, analysis, and presentation of results, and not simply because they involve large data sets or long-duration studies.
