Information for Authors
【官网信息】
The
Innovation Informatics is a sister journal of The Innovation. It aims
to drive breakthroughs in information science by bridging computer
science, artificial intelligence, and domain-specific scientific
applications. The journal seeks to empower data-driven discovery and
foster interdisciplinary collaboration across fields such as biology,
materials science, earth science, and physics. The Innovation
Informatics is an international, open-access journal that publishes
innovative, rigorous, and impactful research in informatics, with a
focus on methods, tools, datasets, systems, and real-world applications
that advance scientific understanding. Published articles will benefit
from global visibility and broad dissemination, helping to shape the
emerging field of informatics.
The official abbreviation of The Informatics is "Innov. Inform.".
Aims & Scope
Innovation Informatics welcomes submission of original works from any
branches of information science and technology that advance scientific
research and interdisciplinary discovery, including but not limited to:
1. Innovative research on artificial intelligence in natural sciences and social sciences (AI for science and social science)
2.
Fundamental theories, technologies, and methods in information science
(information theory, network science, mathematical theories and models)
3.
Intelligent computing and systems (mobile computing, knowledge graphs,
information and hardware security, AI algorithms and supercomputing
architectures, etc.)
4. Automation and control systems
5. Semiconductors and information devices
6. Optical and optoelectronic information
7. Life and health informatics (bioinformatics, health informatics, etc.)
8.
Brain science and cognitive intelligence (neuroinformatics,
brain-inspired computing and cognitive models, educational psychology,
etc.)
9. Computational social science and policy informatics
10. Autonomous intelligence and robotic systems (embodied intelligence, robotic informatics, unmanned systems, etc.)
11. Scientific software, tools, datasets, and platforms
12.
Applications of artificial intelligence in scientific research
(intelligent materials, cheminformatics, computational chemistry, etc.)
13.
Frontier interdisciplinary and emerging fields in information science
(space science, environmental and ecological informatics, sustainable
development, etc.)
Editorial Policies
At
The Innovation Informatics, manuscripts are evaluated with the
understanding that they have not been previously published in any form,
either in print or electronic, and are not under consideration by any
other publication or electronic medium. Authors must provide all
in-press or submitted works that are relevant to the manuscript under
consideration by The Innovation Informatics, including those cited in
the manuscript. Additionally, any related manuscripts that have been
submitted elsewhere during the revision process must also be included
with revised manuscripts. Failure to provide copies of related
manuscripts under consideration elsewhere may delay the review process
and may be grounds for rejection.
For more information, please visit https://www.the-innovation.org/innovation-press/policies/editorial-policies/.
Preprint servers
Innovation
Informatics welcomes submissions of manuscripts that have previously
appeared on preprint servers such as arXiv, bioRxiv, medRxiv, or other
recognized preprint platforms. This policy applies only to the original
submitted version of the manuscript. Authors must not post any revised
versions responding to editorial input or peer review, nor the final
published version, on preprint servers.
Please note that Innovation Informatics' prepublication media policy still applies to studies shared via preprint servers.
Authorship
Joint first authorship and corresponding authorship are allowed. Each author may provide only one email address.
The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that:
* All contributors deserving authorship are properly included.
* All authors have agreed to the manuscript's content and its submission to Innovation Informatics.
If
the author list includes a consortium, a complete list of members may
be provided in a dedicated "Consortia" section before Acknowledgments.
Affiliations are not permitted in the consortia section; if needed, a
separate affiliation list can be included as supplementary material.
Competing interests
Informatics emphasizes transparency in scholarly publishing. Authors
must disclose any financial or non-financial interests that may affect
objectivity or content.
Before
acceptance, all authors are required to submit a "Declaration of
Interests" form. A competing interests disclosure must also be included
within the article itself under the “Declaration of Interests” section.
For full policy details, please refer to our official website.
Use of AI-assisted technologies in scientific writing
Authors using AI and AI-assisted technologies in the writing process for The Innovation Informatics should:
*
Only use these technologies to improve readability and language, not to
replace key researcher tasks such as interpreting data or drawing
scientific conclusions.
Apply the technology with human oversight and control, and carefully
review and edit the result, as AI can generate authoritative-sounding
output that can be incorrect, incomplete or biased.
Not list AI and AI-assisted technologies as an author or co-author or
cite AI as an author. Authorship implies responsibilities and tasks that
can only be attributed to and performed by humans, as outlined in The
Innovation Medicine's policy for AI use in authorship.
Disclose in their manuscript the use of AI and AI-assisted technologies
in the writing process by following the instructions below. A statement
will appear in the published work. Please note that authors are
ultimately responsible and accountable for the contents of the work.
Disclosure
instructions. Authors must disclose the use of AI and AI-assisted
technologies in the writing process by adding a statement at the end of
their manuscript in a new section titled "Declaration of AI and
AI-assisted technologies in the writing process." Statement: During the
preparation of this work the author(s) used [NAME TOOL / SERVICE] in
order to [REASON]. After using this tool/service, the author(s) reviewed
and edited the content as needed and take(s) full responsibility for
the content of the publication. This declaration does not apply to the
use of basic tools for checking grammar, spelling, references etc. If
there is nothing to disclose, there is no need to add a statement.
