authors agree to this policy. As defined by the World Association of
Medical Editors (WAME), plagiarism is the use of others' published or
unpublished ideas, words, or other intellectual property without
attribution or permission. The intent and effect of plagiarism are to
mislead the reader as to the contributions of the plagiarizer. This
applies whether the material is taken from abstracts, research grants,
or published or unpublished manuscripts. The editorial office uses
plagiarism detection software, such as iThenticate, to screen all
submissions. Any allegations of plagiarism are investigated in
accordance with the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines.
If plagiarism is detected at any point, appropriate actions will be
taken, which may include notifying the authors' institution and funding
agencies, and potentially retracting the published paper. For additional
information, please visit http://www.publicationethics.org.
