Submission Guidelines

Initial submission

All

submissions should include a manuscript file and optional Supplementary

Information files and should be made via ScholarOne online submission

system. Using this system, authors can upload manuscript files (text,

figures and Supplementary Information) and check on the status of their

manuscript. A single file including all text, tables, figures and

references in Word Format is preferred, although attachment of separate

files in MS Word, text, jpeg, tiff or other commonly used file formats

is acceptable.

If

an acknowledgement by email is not received within 5 working days,

please contact the Editorial Office of OEA (oea@ioe.ac.cn).

Revised submissions

If

editors or referees propose revision to the manuscript, the manuscript

will be returned to the author for revising and the author will be

notified by Email. After revising the manuscript and writing a detailed

reply to the reviewers with a list of changes made to the manuscript,

the corresponding author will log onto ScholarOne system to submit a

revised manuscript. Please be careful not to submit the revised draft as

a new submission.

The

author should carefully read the format requirements in the manuscript

template and modify it as required. This will reduce possibilities of

publication delays in the event the editor decides to offer publication

of a suitably revised manuscript.

Final proofread

All

accepted papers are subject to editing to ensure readability and

conformity to OEA style. Authors will receive page proofs of their

papers by e-mail with a PDF file. Page proof corrections should be

returned to the OEA editorial office as soon as possible, preferably

within 24 hours of receipt and preferably by e-mail, to avoid

publication delays.

Permissions from other publications

If

a table or figure has been published before, the authors must obtain

written permission to reproduce the material in electronic format from

the copyright owner and submit it with the manuscript. The original

source should be cited in the figure caption or table footnote.

Permission to reproduce material can usually be obtained through the

Copyright Clearance Center.
