you for choosing to submit your paper to us. These instructions will
ensure we have everything required so your paper can move through peer
review, production and publication smoothly. Please take the time to
read and follow them as closely as possible, as doing so will ensure
your paper matches the journal's requirements.
We
offer a range of editing, manuscript preparation and post publication
services to assist you in preparing your manuscript for submission,
increase your chance of acceptance, or broaden the readership of your
article. General guidance on every stage of the publication process is

About the Journal
International
Journal of Digital Earth is an Open Access international, peer-reviewed
journal publishing high-quality, original research. Please see the
journal's Aims & Scope for information about its focus and
peer-review policy.
Open
Access means you can publish your research so it is free to access
online as soon as it is published, meaning anyone can read (and cite)
your work. Please see our guide to Open Access for more information.
Many funders mandate publishing your research open access; you can check

CRediT
Journal of Digital Earth has adopted the CRediT taxonomy and authors
are now required to complete the CRediT taxonomy when providing author
contributions for all submissions.
Article Publishing Charge
The
standard article publishing charge (APC) for this journal is $3300 USD /
£2640 / €3170 / $4595 AUD, plus VAT or other local taxes where
applicable in your country. There is no submission charge.

you are based at an institution or associated with a funder that has an
open access publishing agreement with Taylor & Francis, you might
be eligible for APC support. Please see details here.

Peer Review and Ethics
Taylor
& Francis is committed to peer-review integrity and upholding the
highest standards of review. Once your paper has been assessed for
suitability by the editor, it will then be double anonymous peer
reviewed by two independent, anonymous expert referees, each delivering
at least one report. If you have shared an earlier version of your
Author’s Original Manuscript on a preprint server, please be aware that
anonymity cannot be guaranteed. Further information on our preprints

Preparing Your Paper
All submissions should include an anonymous
document containing an impact statement and a statement on the
relevance of the work to the Digital Earth Concept and IJDE Submission
Scope. Please add this to the beginning of your anonymous document.
Impact
Statement: One to three paragraphs maximum highlighting how the
submission advances the current knowledge in the subject area (including
novelty and originality).
Relevance
of the work to the Digital Earth concept and IJDE submission scope: one
paragraph maximum stating how the topic is suitable for the readership
of IJDE
Article Types
be written with the following elements in the following order: title
page; abstract; keywords; main text introduction, materials and methods,
results, discussion; acknowledgments; declaration of interest
statement; references; appendices (as appropriate); table(s) with
caption(s) (on individual pages). We encourage figures to be added
within the text for ease of peer review. If you prefer to add the
figures at the end of the document please ensure that captions are
included near the figure.
Should be no more than 8000 words
Should contain an unstructured abstract of 200 words.
contain between 3 and 5 keywords. Read making your article more
discoverable, including information on choosing a title and search
engine optimization.
Should be no more than 10,000 words
Target
Articles are invited perspective, opinion or research project
scientific discussion papers designed to stimulate thinking and research
ideas relating to a specific topic in the area of digital Earth.
The topic for a target article should first be approved by the Executive Editor in Chief and or Managing Editor.
Articles will undergo full peer review and approval of a topic by the
Executive Editor-in-Chief or Managing Editor does not assure acceptance.
