Core Charges
The publication of 300 pages a year is generously supported by the Museum für Naturkunde, Berlin (Leibniz Institute for Evolution and Biodiversity Science). Articles accepted for publication before the expiration of the 300 pages quota will be published for FREE. After the expiration of the yearly quota, authors may opt to either cover the Article Processing Charges (see table at the end of this section), or wait with their publication until the beginning of the next year.
In order to give more authors a chance to use the quota, the waivers are limited to 20 published pages. Additional page charges, if any, should be paid by the author according to the table below.

21-30 published pages：€ 35 per page for each page above 20
31-40 published pages：€ 25 per page for each page above 20
41-50 published pages：€ 20 per page for each page above 20
51 and more published pages ：€ 15 per page for each page above 20
Alternatively and independently of the availability of waivers, authors may opt to cover the Article Processing Charges, especially if these are supported by institutions or grants, according to the table below. This will free up publication fee waivers, helping the journal to publish additional valuable research.
