There are many costs associated with publishing scholarly journals, such as those of managing peer review, copy editing, typesetting and online hosting. To cover these costs in the absence of journal subscriptions, authors (or their representatives) are asked to pay Publication Charges, which are listed below. If the specified page limit is exceeded, an additional fee of 20 000 yen will be charged per extra page.
One printed page is approximately 800 words, and one table or figure is approximately 400 words.
Review Article:10 Pages(100 000 yen per article)
Original Article:5 Pages(100 000 yen per article)
Case Report:3 Pages(100 000 yen per article)
New Methods:3 Pages(100 000 yen per article)
Letter to the Editor:2 Pages(50 000 yen per article)
Invited Review Articles:No limit(No charge)
The total publication charge is finalized at the time of author's proof check. Authors receive an email which has a link to the payment page. The article will be published once the payment is completed on the designated payment page. If payment is not made within three months of the notification, the manuscript will be returned to the authors.
Note: Priority Publication Charges: Authors may request rapid publication for 50 000 JPY.
Authors of accepted manuscripts will be invoiced for the Publication Charges and need to settle before their manuscript is published.
