The OA-fee (CC-BY-NC or CC-BY license) consists of a base fee (€ 140 per article) and a page fee (€ 149 per published page) and is charged for papers up to and including 16 pages. OA-fees for papers exceeding 16 pages in length are negotiated individually.
Color publicaton is free for Open Access papers.
Fee example: The fee for a hypothetical paper of 6 typeset pages amounts to
€ 140 + € 149 * 6 = € 1,034.00.
Taxes and color publishing are included
Color publishing for non-OA-papers is free.
Language editing fee (where required by the editors): € 12 per manuscript page (plus taxes, where applicable)

It is published online and in print. One volume, consisting of four issues is published annually. The journal is continously published by German Geological Society since its foundation in 1848. It was relaunched in 2005.
